  4. FORSEC.ARC is a complete list of all public forums as of March 1, 1994.
  5.  
  6. The listing is in alphabetical order by Forum Name/Description, for the
  7. most part.  I have taken a few liberties to keep related forums grouped
  8. together.  Following each forum name is the Gateway prefix and GO word.
  9. Beneath the forum name and Gateway/GO word are the available message
  10. sections, libraries, and conference rooms that are available in that
  11. forum.  If the forum does not offer one of these available areas, it is
  12. not listed, or blank.

  16. TERMINOLOGY
  17. -----------
  18.  
  19. GATEWAY:  A three letter code that identifies the information provider
  20.           for this forum.  Used in conjunction with the GO command, it
  21.           provides fast navigation between forums in different service
  22.           areas.  The current gateway codes are:
  23.  
  24.           CIS    CompuServe Infomation Service
  25.           EET    Electronic Engineering Times Network Service
  26.           ZMC    Ziff-Davis MacUser/MacWEEK/CompuServe Information Service
  27.           ZNT    Ziff-Davis ZiffNet Information Service
  28.           HOME   The CompuServe Host for your account (GO HOME:MAIL)
  29.  
  30. GO WORD:  The identifying word that takes you to a service/forum.
  31.

  33. USAGE

  35.  
  36. You can use this file to quickly locate a forum of interest.  Once located,
  37. you can use the gateway and "go" word to reach that forum.  For example,
  38. to reach the free CompuServe Help Forum, you would type GO CIS:HELPFORUM.
  39. To reach the free Ziffnet Support Forum, you would type GO ZNT:ZIFFHELP.
  40.  
  41. All GO words can be abbreviated to six (6) characters.  For example,
  42. GO CIS:HELPFORUM can also be typed as GO CIS:HELPFO.
  43.  
  44. If you are using the CompuServe Information Manager, GO words are called
  45. Service Names.  You would select the GO... option in your Services Menu
  46. and type the actual gateway/go word in the Transfer To Service box that
  47. appears; i.e., CIS:HELPFORUM.

  49. NOTE:  A plus sign (+) after the Forum Name/Description indicates that
  50.        that forum is part of extended services.
